Obituaries (1888-2016), Birth and Marriage Announcements (2001-2016) The Standard-Times is a weekly North Kingstown newspaper that has been in publication since 1888. Using this index, you can search for obituaries and birth & marriage announcements for people who have lived in the North Kingstown area. Each page is arranged alphabetically by last name for those dates that are covered. Microfilm of The Standard-Times is available for most of the years from 1888-present. (Microfilm reels are not available for the following time periods: August 1908 - July 1909, and August 1914 - July 1916.) Requesting Print Copies of the Microfilm We are limiting each order that is made to three obituaries due to the limited time that the reference staff is available to copy articles from The Standard-Times. There is a photocopying charge of $1.00 per obituary or announcement and a processing fee of $2.00 per order. Please send the following with your order: 1. A self-addressed stamped business-sized envelope 2. The processing and photocopying fee 3. The following information (which you will have found in the index): First Name; Last Name; Middle Initial; Month; Day; Page Number (if available); and Event Code The library will accept only a check or money order drawn on a U.S. bank (credit cards will not be accepted).
