Knitters Needed for the Rhode Island Tempestry Project

The Tempestry Project combines fiber art, history, climate activism and data representation through a community knitting project. Tempestries are knit panels that depict the daily high temperatures for a specific year and location, January at the bottom and December at the top (think bar graphs!). Our library is creating knits for the years 1975 (when our current library was constructed) and 1999 (the 100th anniversary of the opening of our original library on Brown Street). We need your help!
We are seeking experienced knitters to contribute to the project. Drop into our monthly A Good Yarn session, or come downstairs to the Reference Desk on Monday afternoons to work on the project.
These knits will be added to the statewide collection which will be on display at the library during June 2025.
