Sunday Musicales: Jazz Standards and New Compositions

Sunday Musicales have been co-sponsored by the library and the North Kingstown Arts Council for over thirty years. Registration is important as seating is limited.
In our final Musicale of the season, vocalist Maria Puziello will sing jazz standards accompanied by Joe Parillo, Director of Jazz Studies at URI. Joe Parillo will also perform some of his newest compositions.

Book Bites Cookbook Club--Favorite Brunch Recipes

We are going to do something a little different in our Cookbook Club this month. Instead of all cooking from the same book, we will each cook up our favorite Easter or other special brunch recipe. Take a look at our Among Friends newsletter to see what is coming up at the library. There is something for everyone---lectures, music, movies, book clubs and more!

To register for programs for adults, have your library card and PIN ready and click on NKFL Programs. If you don't have a library card call 294-3306. Call the Young Readers' Desk at 294-3306 option 5 to register for children's programs.

The Friends of the Library support library programs and much more. Consider becoming a member. Learn more about the Friends here or use the remittance form below to join. As a "Basic" member, you can receive the newsletter via postal service.

New DVDs Coming Soon!

You can place holds on new DVDs that will be coming in this month by clicking on New Feature DVDs. To receive the list via email every month, click on Newsletter Signup, click a checkmark next to New Feature DVDs - Coming Soon, type your email in the box at the bottom of the screen, and click on the subscribe button. Concerned that there are a lot of people in line for a DVD that you'd like to borrow? We recommend that you place a hold anyway because the North Kingstown copy fills holds picked up in North Kingstown first. You may move up the list more quickly than you thought that you would!

The History of Our Library

Library on Brown St.

The North Kingstown Free Library at 100 Boone St. opened in December of 1975. To celebrate the 40th anniversary of this occasion AND the 60th Anniversary of the Friends of the Library, we have created a short film and a book. The book, The North Kingstown Free Library 1899-2015: A Book of Memories and Clippings is on sale at the library for $10. Reading We've Enjoyed in 2016

It's that time of year again -- when members of the library staff select their favorite books from 2016. Click on Reading We've Enjoyed - Fiction and Non-fiction For Adults to peruse the lists and place holds on titles that interest you. Happy New Year!

Mobile Printing comes to the North Kingstown Free Library

The Library has launched PrinterOn mobile printing. Patrons can print while at the library, or send a document for printing from home or wherever they may be, then pick it up at the library within 24 hours. Use your smartphone, tablet or PC.

Just use the webpage address www.printeron.net/osl/nkfl to go to an online webpage form. Fill out the form and click on the green printer in the lower right corner.
