Free Concert: Tish Adams: Jazz, Blues and a Few Surprises

Summer concerts are held on the library lawn. Bring chairs, insect repellant and a picnic dinner to enjoy. Please register to ensure a seat inside in the event of inclement weather.
Jazz Standards, obscure musical gems and a pinch of the blues with imaginative phrasing and tempos. Tish will be joined by Gino Rosati and Joe Potenza (The Tasty Trio).

New DVDs Coming Soon!

You can place holds on new DVDs that will be coming in this month by clicking on New DVDs. To receive the list via email every month, click on Newsletter Signup, click a checkmark next to New Feature DVDs - Coming Soon, type your email in the box at the bottom of the screen, and click on the subscribe button. Concerned that there are a lot of people in line for a DVD that you'd like to borrow? We recommend that you place a hold anyway because the North Kingstown copy fills holds picked up in North Kingstown first. You may move up the list more quickly than you thought that you would!

Some new (and old) things on our website!

North Kingstown: An Illustrated History, is a narrated slideshow that was produced by the library in 1980. It was recently digitized and can be viewed here. It can also be checked out on DVD.

North Kingstown Free Library:1899-2015, A Book of Memories and Clippings, produced by the library in October 2015, is now available to read online.

The History of Our Library

The North Kingstown Free Library at 100 Boone St. opened in December of 1975. To celebrate the 40th anniversary of this occasion AND the 60th Anniversary of the Friends of the Library, we have created a short film and a book. The book, The North Kingstown Free Library 1899-2015: A Book of Memories and Clippings is on sale at the library for $10. It's that time of year again -- when members of the library staff select their favorite books from 2016. Click on Reading We've Enjoyed - Fiction and Non-fiction For Adults to peruse the lists and place holds on titles that interest you. Happy New Year!

Mobile Printing comes to the North Kingstown Free Library

The Library has launched PrinterOn mobile printing. Patrons can print while at the library, or send a document for printing from home or wherever they may be, then pick it up at the library within 24 hours. Use your smartphone, tablet or PC.

Just use the webpage address www.printeron.net/osl/nkfl to go to an online webpage form. Fill out the form and click on the green printer in the lower right corner.

TumbleBook Library

The TumbleBookLibrary is a collection of TumbleBooks (animated, talking picture books) with fiction, non-fiction and foreign language titles, Read-Alongs (chapter books with sentence highlighting and narration but no animation), TumbleTV which consists of pre-set playlists of a sequence of books, and Tumble Puzzles & Games. TumbleBooks are created from existing picture books which we have licensed from children's book publishers and converted to the TumbleBook format.
You may want to explore the site by checking out all the books, games and features. Our catalogue has book descriptions, book reviews, and author/illustrator/publisher information.
