Fiber Arts Group - Tuesday, January 22nd at 6:30 pm

A Good Yarn

A monthly group for anyone interested in the fiber arts including knitting, crocheting, spinning, embroidery, etc. All levels of expertise are invited to join us. We will work on our projects, get inspired, or get advice on trouble we’re having. Don’t know how to knit? We can help you learn! Led by Sheri Gavitt, Knitter. Registration preferred but drop-ins are welcome! Light refreshments will be served.


The afternoon Fiber Arts session will not be meeting in November. The next afternoon meeting will be on December 27th.

Shipwrecks in Rhode Island - Wednesday, January 23rd at 6:30 pm

Join us for an evening of maritime misfortune! Rhode Island has more shipwrecks per square mile than any other state, and archaeologist Charlotte Taylor will share images and stories of shipwrecks from the last 300 years. Ms. Taylor is an archaeologist at the Rhode Island Historical Preservation and Heritage Commission and the author of Rhode Island Shipwrecks.

Book Bites: Cookbook Book Group - Monday, February 11th at 6:30 pm

Join this unique book group where the participants chose a recipe from that month’s cookbook and prepare it to share with the group. This month we will be cooking and discussing recipes from Black Girl Baking by Jerrelle Guy, Soul by Todd Richards, Soul Food Love by Alice Randall and Caroline Randall Williams, and Vegan Soul Kitchen by Bryant Terry. Copies of the cookbooks are available at the circulation desk.
