Return of the Sea Otter - Wednesday, July 18th at 6:30 pm

In his newest book about rare wildlife, Todd McLeish journeys along the Pacific Coast from California to Alaska to track the status, health, habits, personality, and viability of sea otters – the appealing animals unique to the Pacific that were hunted to near extinction in the 18th and 19th centuries. Todd shares stories of his adventures and outlines the natural history of these adorable marine mammals that play a vital role in maintaining the health of the kelp forest ecosystem. Registration preferred.

Internet Safety: For Parents and their Children

This 45-minute class on internet safety is for parents and their elementry school aged children (K-5th) or just interesed parents. This class will provide information to help ensure children's safety on the intenet as well as offer parents' tips on how to take a proactive role in guiding their children on the internet. Refreshments will be served. This program is being presented by MLIS graduate students from the University of Rhode Island. Book Bites: Cookbook Book Group - Monday, July 23rd at 6:30 pm

Outdoor Movie Event! Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle - Wednesday, July 25th at 8:00 pm

Bring your blankets, lawn chairs, snacks, and bug spray and join us on the library lawn to watch Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle!

Four high school kids discover an old video game console and are drawn into the game's jungle setting, literally becoming the adult avatars they chose. What they discover is that you don't just play Jumanji - you must survive it. Rated PG-13.

This event is weather dependent. Registration is preferred to be notified if we have to cancel.

North Kingstown and World War II - Saturday, July 28th at 1:00 pm

 

Join us as we unveil our recently restored World War II Honor Roll Memorial which lists the names of over 400 North Kingstown residents who served in WWII.

To commemorate this event, we will be having three guests who will speak on the life in North Kingstown during WWII. Joining us will be North Kingstown historian Tim Cranston, author Brian Wallin and local WWII Navy veteran George Silva. Space is limited, registration preferred.
