Pinterest Party

What is a Pinterest Party? At this Pinterest Party, supplies and instructions for a project found on Pinterest are provided to participants. That's it! There are no samples, and no expert. Participants come to try out a Pinterest project, and see if they can master it! We'll all use the same instructions and any past crafting/DIY experience to work on the project-- collaboration and working together is strongly encouraged! It's sure to be a fun, social, and crafty event.

Button art is a style of picture making by gluing various sizes and colors of buttons on a surface to create a design.

Amphibians and Reptiles in Rhode Island

Join the North Kingstown Land Conservancy at the library on May 15th for their annual meeting followed by at keynote lecture on "Balancing Land Use and Amphibian and Reptile Conservation in Rhode Island" presented by URI's Dr. Nancy Karraker.

Dr. Karraker will give a brief overview of amphibians and reptiles in Rhode Island and then talk about her research studying the habitats needed for amphibians and reptiles in New England

5:30 pm: Year-in-review of the NK Land Conservancy, and a look at what's in store for 2019.

A Guided Walk in Chafee Nature Preserve

Join Tim Cranston as he walks the main trail of the Chafee Nature Preserve and learn about how it was utilized by the Narragansett native people for generations.

Along the way, we'll hear stories about trolley cars, atomic energy, a trend setting doctor and a colonial-era debt collector. Don't forget about the story of the kidnapped white settler who was returned to her family right here in North Kingstown!

Wear your sensible shoes and be prepared to enjoy nature along the way.
