Music for the Winter Solstice
The winter solstice, this year on December 21st at 6:03pm, marks the shortest day and the longest night of the year. Since ancient times, the December solstice has played an important role in cultures around the world. Many holidays are celebrated at this time of year. Whatever holidays you may or may not celebrate, come join with us in a musical celebration. Flautist Jane Revkin and pianist Dawn Chung will present this winter-themed program of music from various genres, from classical, jazz, Celtic and New Age to soundtracks. Both Jane and Dawn teach at Rhode Island Philharmonic Music School. We’ll share cookies and hot cider too! Please register to let us know you are coming.
