A monthly group for beginners and experienced “stitchers”. Bring your current project or get help starting something new. Don’t know how to knit? We can help you learn!

Expanding Aquaculture in Rhode Island - Wednesday, June 7th at 6:30 pm

Shellfish aquaculture is an expanding segment of the seafood industry in Rhode Island.  As part of the RI Shellfish Initiative David Beutel, Aquaculture and Fisheries Coordinator for the RI Coastal Resources Management Council will provide a presentation on the aquaculture industry of RI, projections for the future, and discuss the process and review of aquaculture applications. Diggin' Your Roots: Intro to Genealogy - Saturday, June 16th at 10:00 am

What is genealogy? How do you start to build your own family tree? This workshop will cover the basics to get you started. You’ll learn basic research methods and work with free websites (or paper if you prefer!) to create your own family tree. You’ll learn to search several free genealogical databases, learn about resources in your community and how to use what you find to document your family history. Basic comfort using a computer for online research is required. Presented by the Rhode Island Historical Society and the Providence Public Library. Space is limited, registration required.
